Muzarabani Oil and Gas Project, Zimbabwe. (Special Grant 4571)

One Gas Resources holds a 20% stake in the Muzarabani Oil and Gas Project (SG 4571), which it is developing in partnership with its 80% partner, Invictus Energy Resources, an ASX listed company. Invictus Energy are the upstream project operators and funding partners.

The project encompasses 100,000ha of what is considered Africa’s largest undrilled onshore Oil & Gas target which boasts of a $30million legacy data set from Mobil International’s exploration work in the country in the mid-1980s.

SG 4571 is located in the most prospective portion of the Cabora Bassa Basin in northern Zimbabwe. The licence is currently in the second exploration period which runs to August 2023.

Previously explored by Mobil Oil, the project contains the largest undrilled structure in onshore Africa. The Mzarabani anticline feature has over 200km 2 under closure and 500m vertical relief and favourable depths for conventional oil and gas.

The Mzarabani conventional gas-condensate prospect, the largest undrilled prospect onshore Africa with an independently estimated 8.2 Tcf + 247 million barrels (gross mean unrisked basis) of conventional gas-condensate in a stacked target.

The Company has completed a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment which was one of the largest surveys ever undertaken in the country. The regulator, the Environmental Management Agency, has approved the Environmental Management Plan for seismic and drilling.

international consultants, being Netherland, Sewel and Associates and Getech.
